GOLD GROUP – Day 4 travelling to the equator and beyond…

Lunch at the equator was superb, we are sampling a good range of Ugandan food such as yam, posho, matoki (savoury cooked banana) and peanut sauce. Our shopping acquisitions included African print shirts for the boys, baggy trousers for the girls, Ugandan football shirts, wooden masks, and other handicrafts. Driving in our convoy of Coasters (minibus) is a good way to view Ugandan life and over our few hours of travel we saw towns, rural life, villages, street markets and the outskirts of crazy Kampala.
The last stage of the drive was a long dusty bumpy road which led us to the top of a hill where we found our accommodation. The sun was setting across the stunning panoramic view, and dinner was ready to be served.

Such an amazing learning experience for the Richard Lander students and staff. Something that will be remembered forever. Not sure how Demelza will be taking to the food! 🤔
